The starting point

PLASTIC STARTED AS HYDROCARBONS

Most conventional plastics are manufactured from hydrocarbon feedstocks. Contamination, mixed polymers, degradation and limited end markets can eventually make mechanical recycling technically or economically impractical.

At that point the material still holds hydrocarbon value. Controlled thermal conversion provides a recovery pathway: in a low-oxygen environment, heat breaks long polymer chains into smaller hydrocarbon molecules that can be recovered, condensed and separated into useful liquid fractions.

Positioning

ALONGSIDE RECYCLING, NOT INSTEAD OF IT

Advanced recovery is not positioned as a replacement for mechanical recycling. Suitable materials should be reused or mechanically recycled where practical; advanced recovery provides a pathway for difficult residual streams.

Green Fuel Tech subjects selected fractions to further separation, upgrading, quality control and blending according to their intended application.
